PRO-BONO OPPORTUNITY:  Helping Tenants in Need: Eviction and Housing Law Defenses CLE

CLE CREDIT: 1.5 MCLE Credits (1.0 hour approved -additional .5 hour pending)

Low-income tenants without legal assistance face the very real possibility of being evicted from their homes, resulting in homelessness throughout our community.

YOU can help prevent this. Meet your personal or firm pro-bono commitment: No Cost CLE in exchange for a commitment of a few hours of your time to provide pro-bono legal assistance to low-income tenants with housing law issues.

This program will teach the “nuts and bolts” of landlord and tenant law so that you can help tenants assert their rights, protect their homes, and learn of the available remedies so that they can stay safely housed. You will learn the law and issues commonly involved, as well as litigation strategies, taught by experienced professionals.

SPEAKERS:

Jonathan Francis, Legal Services of Northern Virginia

Ian Cohn-Roy, Legal Services of Northern Virginia  (ICohn-Roy@LSNV.org)
